Administrative Setup

Gwadar was notified as a district on July 1, 1977 when the Makran district was given the status of a division and was divided into three districts. Previously it was one of 3 tehsils of Makran district. For administrative purposes, the whole district is divided into two sub-divisions, i.e., Gwadar and Pasni. These sub-divisions are further divided into tehsils and sub-tehsils. Gwadar sub-division comprises two tehsils, named Gwadar and Jiwani, and one sub-tehsil named Suntsar. Pasni sub-division is divided into Pasni and Ormara tehsils.
